Recreation Department
The Recreation Committee reviews practices and policies and make recommendations to improve the delivery of services to the public. Encouraging and assisting programs to meet the needs and interests of the community. They providing input on recreation related policies and procedures by being an advocate for the recreation department. In addition they act as an arbitrator for unresolved disputes on recreation related matters such as facility schedules, fees and charges, and community problems related to the use of parks and facilities.
The committee actively engages the community through the development of partnerships with community organizations, schools, and businesses while promoting programs, services, events and facilities for the residents. Also are active participants at various events and festivals.
The department is seeking volunteers to help on all levels to organize and run the programs. Example: coaching on several levels, score keepers, general helpers.
The Recreation Department meets at 7 p.m. the 3rd Monday of the month following the Select Board meeting at the Community Center.
